“Lighter Side of History”是国家博物馆配合新加坡多元种族文化所举办的活动，内容包括饮食、服饰、语言等。
这个每月最后一个周末举办的活动，让公众通过工作坊、讲座、演出、示范等，了解本地文化。
印度妇女的传统服饰纱丽是历史最悠久的布料之一，被视为“活的遗产”。配合明天的屠妖节，“Lighter Side of History”邀请两名纱丽达人主讲“印度纱丽的不朽魅力”（The Timeless Appeal of the Indian Sari），出席者还有机会穿上各式纱丽。
